Czech Defenseman Matusek, Signs with Admirals

by Admirals Staff

The West Sound Admirals have been hitting the recruiting trail hard since the team was named to the Northwest division of the Western States Hockey League.   The Admirals, who have players coming from Sweden, Russia, Canada, and all over the United States - Have now signed Defenseman David Matusek of the Czeck Republic.

Matusek, played for the South Muskoka Sheild in 2017-18, and the Billings Bulls in 2016-17 season.

"I am very excited to have David as an Admiral this season" says General Manager Dave Daniello.   "He is a young guy who has plenty of experience in junior hockey already.   He will come in here and help us.  Defense is a difficult position to fill in this league and having a player with experience and years to grow is essential!" Daniello continued.

Matusek was asked what he will bring to the team this season!  "Go hard or go home!" said David.   He is going to let his play do the talking for him.  We expect David to bring energy, enthusiasm, and a never quit attitude to the ice for the fans in Bremerton.

Only a few critical roster spots remain as the Admirals gear up for the start of the 2018-19 WSHL regular season.   The Admirals first game is on the road against the Bellingham Blazers October 12th.   The Admirals home opener will be Sunday, October 14th at 2:45pm    A short ceremony introducing the Admirals to the Bremerton fans will take place on the ice just prior to the start of the game.
