Admirals agree to deal with Russian forward Popov

by Admirals Staff

The West Sound Admirals, Members of the Western States Hockey league's Northwest Division, have reached an agreement with another forward for the 208-19 season.  Artem Popov has reached an agreement to skate for the Admirals this season.

Popov, who spent some time in Utah for the Outliers last season, was traded mid season to the now defunct Warriors.  He is happy to become an Admiral and come back to West Sound this year.

"I'm happy to be back in Bremerton because its a great start for career and professional growth."  said Artem of signing with the Admirals.

Dave Daniello, The General Manager for the Admirals is happy Popov chose West Sound for the upcoming season.  "Artem will bring an element to our game we need, and that is speed.  He is fast, can work in transition and apply pressure on the forecheck.   He becomes one more piece of the puzzle for us.  I am thrilled to have him!"

The Admirals are filling the few key spots that still remain to round out the roster, but Daniello said he feels it is coming together nicely.   "I think the fans in Bremerton will see that we are putting a very competitive squad together and we want to bring exciting fast paced hockey to the Bremerton Ice Center.  We are well on our way to fulfilling that goal!

The Admirals continue to build a competitive squad for their inaugural season in the WSHL.  For more information on the Admirals, To purchase tickets, or to become a Volunteer or BIllet family - Contact General Manager Dave Daniello at wsadmiralsgm@gmail.com or by calling 207-542-7899
